1. Data controller

Kadence is published by Ysamihal Labs, SASU, 6 rue d'Armaillé, 75017 Paris, France. Ysamihal Labs is the data controller for personal data processed through the App.

2. Data we process

The profile you enter at the start: first name, why you run, your targets, level, running days and preferred modes and, if you provide them, sex, age, height, weight and sensitive areas (knee, shin, ankle, hip, lower back). Your sessions, GPS traces, routes, goals, plan, records, conversations with the coach and, if you save one, your home position or address.

All of this is stored on your iPhone and is not sent to our servers. Sign in with Apple stays on your iPhone. What reaches a server is limited to what the sections below describe: the coach's request if you allow it, the support chat, anonymous usage statistics you can turn off, your subscription status and the app version needed for updates.

3. Apple Health and Apple Watch

With your permission, Kadence reads from Apple Health your workouts, heart rate, steps, sleep, heart rate variability (HRV) and VO2max. Kadence on Apple Watch saves the sessions started on the wrist to Apple Health; the iPhone app does not write to it otherwise.

Health readings are processed on your device and are not stored on our servers. They are never used for advertising and never sold. The only values derived from them that can leave the device are those in the coach's training summary (average heart rate of your last sessions, recovery, HRV, VO2max), and only if you allow the coach's AI.

4. AI coach

The App asks you the first time whether the coach may use its AI, Claude by Anthropic. If you allow it, to answer you the coach sends a request to Anthropic's API containing your message, the conversation it belongs to, and a summary of your training written on your device: the day, your profile as you gave it (age, height, weight, sex, level, training days, sensitive areas, goals), your programme and planned weeks, your last sessions (date, mode, distance, duration, pace, effort felt, average heart rate, repetitions), your weekly volume, your recovery (sleep, resting heart rate, HRV) and whether your home is known. When the coach needs more to answer, your device sends only what it asks for (a session's splits and heart rate zones, your best times, the Kadence guide's cards). Never your GPS traces, your address or position, your name or your email.

Anthropic processes this data as a processor, under its commercial terms, and does not use it to train its models; processing may take place outside the European Union (United States). Our servers do not store coach conversations: they are kept on your device only. For the question limits, we keep only the number of questions and the current question's random identifier, linked to an anonymous identifier. When Claude is unavailable, the same request is answered by Google Cloud Vertex AI (Gemini), which processes it on the same terms as a processor and does not use it to train its models; versions of the App before October 2026 used Gemini only.

You can withdraw this permission at any time in Coach › Settings › Coach AI. The coach then no longer answers.

5. Location and routes

With your permission, Kadence uses your location to record your runs and walks in real time, including in the background during a session, and to create routes near you. Routes are computed by Apple Maps from your position, and an address you give the coach is looked up by Apple. Your traces and routes stay on your iPhone.

6. Support chat

When you write to support (Profile › Help › Contact support), your conversation is stored in Google Firebase (Belgium, europe-west1) with an anonymous identifier, the first name you gave, a notification token so you are told when we reply, and information that helps us help you: app version, iPhone model, iOS version, language, time zone, plan, watch installed, chosen modes, number of sessions and whether notifications are allowed. Nothing of your sessions or your health. It is kept until you delete your account.

7. Usage statistics

To know what helps and what gets in the way, Kadence counts anonymously how the App is used: the screens opened; the steps of the first questionnaire and its multiple-choice answers (modes, reasons, goals, level, where you heard of Kadence), never your name, age, sex, body or pains; the permissions allowed or refused; the subscription screen and its purchases; the sessions started and finished in Kadence (mode, rounded distance and duration, no trace, no place, no heart rate); how the coach is used (the kind of request and how long the answer took, never your messages); shares and notifications opened. Nothing read from Apple Health.

These events carry a random identifier created by the App, unrelated to your name, Apple account or iPhone, along with the App's version, its language and your plan. We store them ourselves in Google Firebase (Belgium, europe-west1) and delete them after 90 days; only weekly totals are kept after that. No advertising identifier. You can turn them off at any time in Profile › Usage statistics; deleting your account also erases those already sent.

8. Purposes and legal bases

We use data to provide the App, record and analyse your sessions, build and adapt your plan, create routes, answer through the coach, manage subscriptions, deliver the App's updates and the notifications you enable, understand how the product is used, provide support and meet legal duties. We rely on contract performance, your consent (Health access, location, the coach's use of its AI, notifications, Spotify), our legitimate interests in security, reliability and product improvement, and legal obligations.

9. Providers and transfers

We use Google Firebase (anonymous authentication, database and functions for the support chat, the coach and usage statistics), Anthropic (Claude, the coach's AI, if you allow it), Google Cloud Vertex AI / Gemini (the coach when Claude is unavailable, and in versions before October 2026), Apple (Sign in with Apple, Apple Health, Apple Maps, notifications and payments), RevenueCat (subscription status, with an anonymous purchase identifier and App Store receipts), Expo (app updates: it receives the app and iPhone versions) and, if you connect it, Spotify (Kadence controls the Spotify app on your iPhone and keeps nothing of your music). Some of these providers may process data outside the European Union under their data-transfer terms. We use no advertising SDK and no third-party analytics SDK.

10. Retention, sharing and security

Data on your iPhone is kept until you delete it or the App. The support conversation is kept until you delete your account; the coach's daily counter is erased after 3 days; usage statistics are deleted after 90 days and only weekly totals are kept. We do not sell personal data and do not track you across apps or websites. Content is shared with other people only through actions you choose, such as sharing a session picture. We use access controls, database rules that restrict each support conversation to its author, and encryption in transit.

11. Account deletion and your rights

You can delete your account in the App (Profile › Delete my account). This erases the data on your device, including the coach conversations, and deletes your support conversation and the usage statistics already sent from our servers. Workouts already saved to Apple Health and the Sign in with Apple link to Kadence are managed in your iPhone's Settings. Purchase records held by Apple and RevenueCat are handled by those providers; contact us to exercise your rights with them. You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability, withdraw consent at any time, and lodge a complaint with the CNIL or your local supervisory authority. Kadence is not intended for children under 15.
