The basics
The long run
The long run is the longest run of your week, at an easy pace. It teaches your body to go the distance: endurance, running economy, strong muscles and tendons.
- It is often 25 to 30 % of the week’s volume.
- You lengthen it gradually, by 10 to 15 minutes at most from one week to the next.
- Start slowly: finishing with energy left is a good sign.
In your Kadence plan it comes at the end of the week, once your runs have shown you can handle it.
